I guess it’s because of The Oscars (I know this article is terribly delayed) and the bright weather that make me miss Los Angeles’s sunshine so much! Fortunately, the gloom is over and spring is finally here in Hong Kong, which means it’s just one step towards to our summer BBB formula – Beach, Beer, Bikini, and nothing else!
As a capital of entertainment, Los Angeles represents the world’s Hollywood dream. There are no any other cities able to create the three words: blockbuster, celebrity, and paparazzi. Agree? Therefore, you can’t miss Universal Studio Hollywood when you’re visiting L.A, to experience the dazzling Hollywood spotlight-life. You can also explore Hollywood movie sets by joining a Universal Studio Tour. It costs $84 for a 1-Day pass ticket for adults, and you can purchase one online or just buy it at door if you don’t mind queuing.
Dining – before going inside to start the Studio adventure, you should make sure you have enough energy for whole day’s amusement. There are quite a few restaurants inside and outside the theme park for you to choose from. Furthermore, after visiting Universal Studio, you can go to CityWalk to get some food and buy souvenirs
Disneyland–the first Disneyland in the world built in Anatheim, part of the L.A. metropolitan area. There are actually two parks, one is Disneyland Park, and another is Disneyland California Adventure Park. For parents with kids, Disneyland Park might be the better choice for a family day, whereas Adventure Park is more exciting and adventuresome and is thus more popular for teenagers and young adults. And of course, you can always visit both of them if you have enough time.
For getting a panoramic view of this dynamic city, Griffith Observatory is the spot every tourist can’t miss in Los Angeles. Pick a sunny day to visit, schedule permitting of course, and if possible you can visit late in the afternoon just before sunset, that way you can get two for the price of one and can see the different views of this city in both the day and the night. Another tourist attraction, the Hollywood sign, can also be seen at Griffith Observatory.
Shopping & Chasing Hollywood celebrities – Want to see what Hollywood celebrities look like in real life? Go to Beverly Hills. You can find all the world-class fashion brands there and more importantly, it was reported that numerous celebrities live in the area, including Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt, David Beckham& Victoria etc. I’m a big fun of Mr. & Ms. Pitt, so, fat chance that I’d give this one a miss. Just as expected, superstars’ house won’t be easy to be spotted by people, so we – got an address from the Internet but we were disappointed by the real owner.
Chilling out – after shopping and some good grub, you need to find a nice spot to behold the sunset on the entertainment capital of the world. Venice Beach is the perfect place to slow you down and to enjoy a piece of quiet. Chilling out on the beach with palm trees for company, and seeing people surfing in the ocean made me understand why people love living in L.A.
Hotel – LAAC is a distinguished and affordable hotel in downtown L.A. Since it was founded in 1880, the decoration of the hotel looks very historical and classy, which is my favourite. It’s also got a private social club; the LAAC provides great facilities for sports, such as a swimming pool and basketball court. Thus, it’s a great choice if you are planning to stay in L.A. for a period. I strongly recommend this hotel.
